Biography:
Welcome! As a St. Clair County native and Pell City High grad (2008), I couldn't be more excited to begin my sixth year as a local career coach.
When I headed to The University of Alabama, I didn't have a clear plan, changing majors many times before earning my B.S. in Athletic Training in 2013. I went on to earn an M.Ed. from Georgia College & State University, working as an athletic trainer in college, clinical, and high school environments before teaching Health Sciences and Sports Medicine starting in 2019.
Because I experienced the uncertainty of finding the right path firsthand, I am dedicated to helping our students prepare for life after high school. Whether their target is college or entering the workforce, I assist with college and job applications, FAFSA, resumes, and career exploration.

Biography:
This is my fourth year serving as a Career Coach with St. Clair County Schools. As a resident of St. Clair County and a parent of four children in the school system, I am personally invested in the success of our students. Prior to this role, I spent 12 years as an instructor at Jefferson State Community College, where I worked closely with incoming college students. Over time, I saw many students begin their college journey without a clear plan or direction, often leading to unnecessary setbacks in time and finances. That experience inspired me to make a shift, helping students identify their goals and chart a purposeful path before they graduate high school. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a part in guiding them toward brighter, more intentional futures.

Biography:
My name is Emily Ray, and I'm in my 27th year in public education. I graduated from St. Clair County High School in 1995, and after earning a BS in secondary education from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), I came back to St. Clair County and taught English and served as a school counselor at my alma mater for 22 years. A few years ago, I made the move to teach business at Eden Career Technical Center and recently shifted to my current role as career coach. I love that I get to merge my career tech, English, and counseling experience to help kids explore the wide world of career options.
