Education

I graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS Ed. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education. While attending UA, I marched with the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band's Colorguard.  I later returned to UA for an MS Ed. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education.  I also hold a MS Ed. degree from Jacksonville State University in School Library Media and Technology.

Experience

I began my career in 1995 as a Title I Math and Reading aide at Ashville Middle School.  In 1996, I was hired as a 6th grade general and advanced reading teacher.  In 1999, I started teaching at Springville Middle School as a 5th grade Math and English/Language Arts Teacher.  During my time at Springville Middle School, I have served as a 5th grade Math, English/Language Arts, and History teacher, a Technology Specialist, a Librarian/Media Specialist, and a 6th grade History Teacher. I chose to return to the classroom after my time as a Librarian/Media Specialist because I missed the connection to students that is built in the classroom setting.

Bio

My family moved to St. Clair County (Pell City) a month before I started Kindergarten.  I attended and graduated from Pell City Schools and my parents still live in Pell City. Prior to marching at the University of Alabama, I marched in Pell City's Band of Gold.  I graduated high school in 1989.

Currently, I live in Moody with my dogs, Daisy and Boo.  I enjoy traveling, sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.
